Or can I bring it (/this website) back to life?

So it’s been a little while. Life has been busy, as it always is. But lately, I’ve been thinking about reviving this website…

We had this website created for us by a very talented graphic design a friend way back in 2018 when I thought our adventures were beginning. And really, they were beginning because that was the first year we went to Antarctica. But we were talking about sailing around the world and we thought 2019 would be when we would leave…well it’s almost the end of 2024 and we finally have a boat in the water!

You see, things always take longer than you think and cost more than you think, but hopefully they are worth it in the end.

Point is we never gave up on our dream. Not even when our first boat sank in a storm, not even when we thought we would be in the boat yard for four weeks and six months later we hadn’t left. I’m not going to lie, it’s been hard to keep the dream alive, financially mentally and physically, it’s been a challenge.

Even when we thought we found our dream boat it still took three years before she was ours and another year before we put her in the water. Things take time.

Like this website. An idea, a dream, a good intention to keep everyone up to date…
Then Life happens.

Good things come to those who wait they say, more like good things come to those who grind day in and day out and never give up.

So here we are, just having celebrated our first Christmas afloat, and it felt like the right time to revive the dream.

I’ve decided I’m going to start sharing blogs again. But with no pressure for them to be great pieces of written art, nor provide ‘value to the reader’. They will simply be an outlet for me to keep track of our journey and to be able to look back with fondness on the places we have travelled and the things we have experienced. And hopefully they may provide you, our friends and family, with a better idea of where we are and what we get up to on the other side of the world.

So I would love it if you dropped your email down below so that you don’t miss an update, no matter how uninteresting or non-entertaining it will be.

Here’s to letting go of perfectionism, to just doing. And just showing up being enough.
