We Start

Steve and Casey met in what can only be described as true fate of which neither of them anticipated.

Picture this.
Casey; a fresh-faced marine biology graduate with the world at her feet working at an extremely remote whale research station in Canada for the Summer. Living in a tent there are 6 people at most at the camp, but every now and then an expedition group would come to visit.
Steve; a serial entrepreneur whose true passion lies in water-based guiding, working as co-guide for a 7 day stand up paddleboard expedition in the unique and world-renowned Great Bear Rainforest in BC, Canada. This is where their paths crossed and the course of each of their lives was due to be changed forever.

Fast forward 1 year and Casey had moved her life to join Steve in Squamish, BC where they are now engaged.

A few more years down the line and they travel 6-8 months of the year working together as guides in the Expedition Industry, exploring everywhere from Antarctica to Central America by zodiac, stand up paddle board and foot.

Fast forward to present day and Steve and Casey have just spent 6 months refitting a 50ft aluminum expedition sailboat and plan on exploring the world's oceans for the next 5-10 years. To explore wild places accessed only by wind and water.

about us

The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.

The year that 2 adventurous souls began to intertwine. Exploring the Great Bear Rainforest through humpback whales, white black bears and stand up paddle boards.

Finished off with 5 weeks travelling through Europe and falling in love! From London to Vienna, time in Austria, Prague, Slovenia and Amsterdam.

The year that Casey followed her heart across the world. From the UK to New Zealand to Canada… A 6-month-turned-3-month contract tagging stingrays was cut short because love pulled Casey back to Canada.

The rest of the year meant settling into life in BC and even getting engaged!!!

The year that consistent travel began! Beginning with 3-months living and diving in Indonesia, completing a PADI Divemasters from scratch (Steve) and PADI Instructors (Casey).

Time spent back in our magic place, with the animals and people of the Gitga’at Territory in Northern BC where we built an outhouse and a whale spotting deck at a remote whale research station.

2018 was finished up working as boat operators on a TV production in the Northwest Territories as well as fulfilling a lifelong dream of working in Antarctica as guides for the Canadian based One Ocean Expeditions.

The year the knot was tied!

We began by exploring the Antarctic Peninsula and the subantarctic islands of the Falklands and South Georgia whilst working for the Canadian company One Ocean Expeditions.

Next we headed to Bocas del Toro, Panama for the destination wedding that dreams of made of! topped off with a honeymoon-work-combo exploring Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Nicaragua, Honduras, Belize, Mexico and Bermuda!

Another work contract up next exploring the North Atlantic Islands from Ireland and Scotland to the Faroe Islands and Iceland!

We got married a couple more times (in Canada and in Scotland) before heading to the Northwest Territories to work on the TV show ‘Alone’ for the second year.
And the year ended with an unusually quiet Christmas at home in Squamish, BC.

Of course we all know what happened in 2020…

We used this time to work on our local businesses in Squamish; a cafe, food truck and bar.

We were also very blessed to be allowed to head up into Gitga’at Territory in Northern BC where we completed a remote construction project, building an off grid whale research cabin in 6 weeks!

We also travelled to an alpine lake in BC to film Season 8 of ‘the TV Show Alone’.

After that…? Who knows what the rest of 2020 will bring..

We rented our house full-time and left to help commission and work onboard a new expedition ship based in the North Atlantic.

After a 5 month contract through Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Scotland we decided to take some time off in Indonesia where we house sat for friends on a tiny island.

A year of travel; 3 months in Indonesia and 4 months in Southern Africa where we bought an old Toyota Landcruiser and overlanded around South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique!

Another season. of ‘Alone’ in Saskatchewan, Canada and our first season working aboard the world’s only luxury passenger class ice breaker in Antarctica.

The year started with Antarctica including a semi-circumnavigation from Ushuaia, Argentina to Lyttleton, New Zealand. Whilst in New Zealand we bought a van and toured the South Island for 6 weeks before visiting the North Island to see a potential sailboat…

We spent time in France working on our French and then travelled to the Arctic on the icebreaker Le Commandant Charcot in Greenland and Svalbard and even the North Pole.

Another season of ‘Alone’, this time in Inuvik, Northwest Territories (Canada) and back to Antarctica for the end of the year.

The year started and ended in New Zealand. We bought our dream sailboat and spent 6 of the last months refitting her to be a sound and comfortable vessel for exploration.

We took a break in the middle to top up the funds and work in the film industry in South Africa and Canada.

We returned to New Zealand and finally splashed our boat 0n December 10th!

STAY TUNED as we sail around New Zealand!
